The origins of ASSD+PL date back to 2013 when AeroSafetyShow DEMONSTRATOR+PL project was launched. It was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the National Centre for Research and Development.
The project was originated and implemented by a scientific consortium between ŻELAZNY6- WOJCIECH KRUPA company and Poznan University of Technology.
The main objective was to create an intelligent system of supervision and safety of flight operations in real time: increasing control level during tourist flights and aerobatic manoeuvres. The project designers, superb pilots and distinguished scientists saw an increasing number of hazards in the air as well as other risks resulting from e.g. relaxing the rules on obtaining a pilot’s license, decreasing a number of people responsible for flights‘ safety. Another issue of concern was increasingly common liberalisation of restrictions concerning minimal weather conditions.
ASSD+PL project was implemented between 2013 and 2016 in cooperation with distinguished scientists under the guidance of Prof. Michał Ciałkowski, PhD. Eng. Wojciech Krupa,an experienced military and sport aircraft pilot, a multiple Polish champion in aerobatics, colonel navigator, became a leader of the project.
During several years of studies at the airports throughout Poland thousands of testing hours were performed both on the ground and in flight, hundreds of laboratory tests were carried out at Poznan University of Technology and dozens of academic papers were written. All of these resulted in the creation of the world’s first intelligent system of supervision and safety of flight operations in real time.
In the year 2013. our passion for aviation and devotion to science has inspired us to start work on creating a system ASSD+PL. Our goal was to develop a technology to supervise the air operation of small aircrafts used in aero clubs, while aerobatic competitions and by private pilots.
ASSD+PL was designed in order to improve safety of civilian flights operations by clearly defining four parameters of the flight path of an aircraft: direction, position, altitude and speed.
ASSD+PL is made for safer aviation.
Poznan University of Technology– the origins of this university date back to 1919, it is one of the key universities providing technical education both in Poland and in Europe.
ŻELAZNY6 – WOJCIECH KRUPA–a company and an aviation training centre founded in 2008 by Wojciech Krupa, a multiple Polish champion in aerobatics, the leader of ŻELAZNY Aerobatic Group, a pilot of jet aircrafts and Air Reserve Colonel.
